Centenary of Swiss postage stamps, 1843-1943. This is a complete folder bound as illustrated above and inscribed as follows; Jubilaum, 100 jahre, Schweizerische postmarken (ditto in French and Italian) with the compliments of the Directo General of the Post, Telegraph and Telephone, of Switzerland. These stamps and sheets are attached utilising the top adhesive of the top edge of the stamps/sheets.   This folder contains;   Mi 416, 4/6 cent, 1 block of 4 mint plus 1 block of 4 postmarked 1st day of issue. Each time the rest of the World goes mad and starts a war then eventually ends it, the good people of Switzerland (Schweiz, Suisse) issue a set of stamps to celebrate the new peace (PAX). This set (Michel Mi447-459) is MINT, in BLOCKS OF 4. Each block is attached to a card utilising the top edge adhesive of the top pair of stamps. This does not detract from the look of the stamps. The bottom pair are unmounted mint. The folder is incomplete but the pages are clean and sound and may be suitable for re-binding. SWISS (SCHWEIZ, SUISSE) 1943-1945, This folder carries a number of sets and miniature sheets. They are in MINT BLOCKS OF 4 and 1ST DAY, SPECIAL CANCEL, BLOCKS OF 4. As with the PAX issue, these blocks are attached via the adhesive on the top edge of the top two stamps. The book is fully intact. SETS INCLUDED ARE; Pro Juventute 1945, Mi465-468, 1block mint+1block postmarked, 1st day. 100 years Basle tauber, Mi Block 12, 1 block mint, 1 block postmarked, 1st day. Kriegsgeschadigten, Mi443-444, 1 block mint, 1 block postmarked, 1st day. Kriegsgeschadigten Mi Block 11, 1 block mint, 1 block postmarked 1st day. Olympic 1944, Mi428-430, 1 block mint+1 block postmarked 1st day. 100 years Swiss post, Mi Block 10, 1 mint+1 postmarked 1st day.

Switzerland, 1924, Mi192a, fu. This is rather interesting as the stamp was oficially issued on the 9th October, 1924. However, This example was clearly postmarked weeks earlier on the 24th September 1924! Very un-usual for the normally, highly efficient Swiss postal authorities.   A real bargain at just £35
